SimSim is a halal kitchen in the heart of Fairfax built on two traditions that turn out to cook alike. Palestinian family recipes bring slow-roasted meats, fragrant rice, olive oil, warm spices, fresh herbs, house dips, and charcoal-grilled kebabs. Ukrainian comfort food brings beets, sour cream, dill, and dough folded by hand.

From Haneeth, Mansaf, Kabsa, Mix Grill, and Maqluba to Borshch, Varenyky, Deruny, Holubtsi, Mlyntsi, and Syrnyky — both sides of the menu are cooked for a crowd, and both are 100% halal.

The Eastern European dishes aren't a novelty. They are somebody's home cooking, held to the same standard as everything else on the table. Whether you come for a family dinner, a birthday, a business lunch, a catering order, or a quiet meal with friends, you get the same generous plate.
